I’ve had a Wacom tablet for a few years, but it was the small size and never felt comfortable to me. So I got a used large model.
The larger size makes a huge difference. The active area is just about the size of an A4 paper. This tracks very well with the computer display.
And the pen feels great to hold and use, so this will hopefully be great.
My main use will be masking in Dxo Photolabs. I’ve been using masks more and my editing, often drawing masks. The other use will be Photoshop, finishing off editing of some shots there.
But, something you should know which I didn’t, is that Wacom has dropped support for this tablet. I downloaded the usual Wacom drivers, but nothing would work. At first, I thought that the tablet was broken.
But there is a way!
For Windows 11, check out Open Tablet Driver. For macOS, there’s also Connect my tablet.
I’ve tried both, and they work! There are many steps to Connect my tablet and it costs a bit, but in the end it works fine.
