Nikon Photo Secretary

Posted on 2024-09-222024-09-23 by Magnus

One day, I read about this software called Nikon Photo Secretary (AC-1WE). With it, supposedly, you could access more custom settings on the Nikon F5.

Most accounts say that the software, even if you could find it, requires Windows 95. But then I came across this, which claims version 2 of the software runs on Windows 10.

You can download the AC-2WE version here.

Now, the tricky part is getting the MC-31 och MC-33 cable needed. Currently, there’s only one on eBay, and it’s almost $200.

And it requires a PC with a 25-pin serial port (DB-25), those aren’t too common on more modern computers. But there are DB-25 to USB converters, so maybe there is hope.

There are those who have made their own cables, so maybe that’s the way to go.

For now, it’ll remain a dream to get this working.
