Reprocessing photos with DxO Photolab 8

Posted on 2024-11-172024-11-18 by Magnus

The photos here were shot with a Sony A6600 and processed in ON1 2025. I tried to do a simple reprocessing of the same photos in DxO Photolab 8.

I didn’t do any individual editing of each shot. I set the white balance (which I got wrong in the ON1 processing), I applied denoising and sharpening, but didn’t tweak it much.

To my eyes, the DxO-processed photos look more natural, the ON1 over-sharpened. That may just be a result of my doing, and nothing to do with the software, but that’s what I see.

Now I am just trying out DxO, not bought it yet, but so far I like what I see. It’s a more complicated software to get in to than ON1, but maybe it has more to offer.
