A favorite photographer: Jane Bown

I first became aware of Jane Bown by watching Alex Kilbee’s video “Overcome shyness in photography” (below).

This article in the Guardian gives you a taste of her work, if you’re not already familiar with it. Apparently, she started photographing in 1949. Over her long career, she seems to have photographed a long line of famous people. I’ve read that she only had a few minutes often to take the photograph, so she had to work fast. She said in an interview, the best shot for each session were usually the first or the last.
