Trip to Fagersta and Norberg

Posted on 2024-07-062024-07-08 by Magnus

Today we went to the nearby towns of Fagersta and Norberg, and took part of the area’s industrial history and heritage.

We started in Semla, just outside Fagersta. It was, and still is, a power station driven by water from the canal there. There are also a couple of locks there, for boats to get up and down the canal. There was less to see there than I had thought, but still a nice place to visit.

Next stop was Svinryggen, an area with several old open-pit mines. They were closed down well over 100 years ago, but were once busy with extracting iron ore.

Finally, we visited Klackberg, also an area with open-pit mines. Out of the three places, this is the one with most to see and experience. Make a day out of it.

All photos taken with D7200 and Nikon 35mm f/1.8G.
