Now that I have shot a couple of rolls with the F75, what do I think? Even though I’ve only developed one roll so far, I can say it’s a delightful camera.
Obviously a major point, it’s small and light. Slap the 50mm f/1.8D on it and it’s a go-anywhere package. Even with the battery grip it’s a tight package.
It’s easy to operate, with few controls. Autofocus seems fast and accurate, as does exposure.
All in all, get the F75, it’s a great camera. Some people call it a mini-F100, and I’d say that’s a pretty good description.
Something I do miss on the F75, especially since shooting with the F5, is a faster shutter speed. The F75 top speed is 1/2,000 second, the F5 1/8,000. I recall several times, with the F75, when I wanted to use a bigger aperture than the camera would allow, because it had maxed out the shutter speed, so to say. Remember, with analog you can’t just change ISO from frame to frame.
I was going to sell it now that I have the F5, but I think I might just hold on to it.
