When I passed an empty parking lot I saw something.
The office
No, not the TV show The Office, but an office. In a previous job, I used to get to work early and walked around taking photos of the empty office. Each person working there left tracks of their presence, their activities. Those tracks were visible, even though the people were not there.
Apparent abandonment
Sometimes abandonment is apparent, obvious. Sometimes it is not. Something can appear to be abandoned without it actually being so. Something can also appear as not abandoned without actually being so.
