A favorite photographer: William Eggleston

Posted on 2024-04-102024-11-29 by Magnus

I will present some of my favorite photographers. This time we’ve come to William Eggleston.

I can’t really remember when I first heard of Eggleston, nor when I came to really admire his work. But it’s been a sort of love story for a long time,.

I love how he photographs the seemingly banal, everyday, the stuff that most of us would not bother with photographing or even notice. He makes interesting photos out of that which would not be interesting to many.

Check out the documentary about Eggleston called “In the real world,” if you can. It gives a glimpse into Eggleston, his life, and his photography. You can for example see him wander the streets of an American town, seeing the ordinary and turning it into extraordinary photos.

Most of his work has been analog, but he’s been photographic digital as far as I can tell.

You should also check out the BBC documentary “The colourful Mr Eggleston.”
