Being an introvert photographer

Posted on 2024-12-222024-12-22 by Magnus

In pretty much all personality tests I’ve ever done I come out as an introvert. I may also be shy, which is not the same introvert, but I tick the boxes for the diagnosis of an introvert. So, naturally, that is what I am also as a photographer.

Here I have selected three videos, which, in different ways, deal with being an introvert photographer. Obviously, shooting on the street and being in your face, like Martin Parr, takes some confidence and guts. But then there are photographers like Jane Bown, who apparently used her personal characteristics to her benefit, working fast with her subjects.

So, how would it work for me, taking intimate portraits of complete strangers, on the streets or in a studio? I don’t know, but it tickles my interest, that’s for sure.
