I already had a monopod, but it didn’t go very high and was of pretty cheap quality. The new one is Manfrotto, a brand I’ve trusted many times.
It’s Manfrotto model 479-4B and it seems really sturdy. I didn’t measure it, but it is supposed to reach 162cm. So, not quite up to my eye level, but I doubt there is any monopod that will do that.
I have a couple of Manfrotto tripods, and both use the 200PL quick release plate. So I got a Quick Change Rectangular Plate Adapter, which will sit at the top of the monopod.
That way, I can use the quick release plate with the monopod, just as I would with the other tripods.
