A favorite photographer: Alexey Titarenko

Posted on 2024-05-262024-05-26 by Magnus

I first came across Titarenko, like many others I guess, when I read about his project “City of shadows”.

The fascination was, of course, how he managed to photograph people making them appear almost like ghosts, like a mist floating about. I had never seen anything like it.

I do really like much of the rest of his work too though, like “New York”, for example. He has a blurry element to many other shots too, but nothing like “City of shadows”.

Although I’ve thought many times to attempt to shoot like Titarenko, I’ve never got around to it. And “City of shadows” was analog, and I would have to try it with digital camera. But perhaps I get around to trying at some point.
